Nearly three-quarters of the world’s billionaires are between the ages of 50 and 79. Just 12% are under 50. The rarest of all are those who manage to achieve billionaire status by the age of 30; this year there are just 21 of those flush youngsters on the Forbes list. Most of the youngest billionaires are from Europe, with Germany having the most. Italy also has several young billionaires from an eyeglasses empire. Outside of Europe, there are two sibling pairs in South Korea and Brazil who inherited fortunes in online gaming and industrial machinery. There are only two self-made billionaires on the list, one from Australia who cofounded an online casino and one from the United States who cofounded an AI data annotation company.
