In this video I describe a mishap with my FrSky X9D Plus while flying... and why I think it happened. I don't like to bash products or brands, and FrSky does have some good stuff, but I need to go another way. I hike and fly, but my older gear held up without issue. I fly in conditions where I want my equipment to work, but I am also hard on the flight gear. I would be fine if this was a result of my miss use... but it does not look that way. Or if it is my fault I did not figure it out yet... this is part 1 Dynamic Soaring is dangerous and only should be attempted by skill pilots in appropriate locations and conditions. These are 3D printed airplanes. Print files and instructions available from https://soarkraft.com/ Juicy airframe, wings and T-Tail version available now. Welcome and thanks for watching Please Like, Subscribe and comment to help support this channel. This happened while flying a plane capable of 100+ mph.... with no motor, just wind Dynamic Soaring is a passion, fast in-your-face RC flying that is difficult combination of technology, design, skill, and conditions. It is slope soaring, but surfing the eddy curl on the back side. High speed, close to the ground, in turbulent air, no time for a second try. Most people learn with a foam plane.... they bounce... but they are limited efficiency due to construction... it is amazing how much faster a molded or now 3D printed plane is in comparison, but we call them crunchies... as that is the sound they make when they hit the ground... This project was intended to be a dynamic soaring plane that is inexpensive to build, easy, and capable of handling speeds in excess of 100+ mph. The goal is 150mph for under $50 / copy. You print, you build, you fly. I plan to keep pushing until I reach this, please keep watching, like and subscribe, buy my files, all help support this channel. This is a carbon reinforced wing that is 3D printed, and uses a 10mm Square Carbon Fiber Spar that is ~ $10 + other carbon supports. Designed for speed and rough terrain landing. Based on performance and F3F competition models of the past 30 years, but as a 3D print-able version. Flies like a molded airframe, but 3D printed... so if you crash it, print another. Material are less than $30 for the whole airframe. Print - Fly - Crash - Repeat flown here: Juicy with 4 Servo Wing Airfoil: RG15 Wingspan: 1.2M (49") Flying weight = 940g with Standard PLA. 10mm Square x 1000mm tube spar, 2mm rod longerons, 1 x 4mm else where.
