Video shows how vertigo due to BPPV is diagnosed using the Dix-Hallpike maneuver. Furthermore the different types of BPPV causing different eye twitches (nystagmus) also shown (0:56) as well as what maneuver will work best to treat. Keep in mind that one additional step to fully diagnose BPPV is not shown in the video. Called fatiguability, the maneuver should be performed 2 or 3 times on the side that is positive to see if the vertigo attack severity diminishes when repeated more than once. If the vertigo does NOT fatigue with repetition, the dizziness is due to something else... usually brain/spine problem and not BPPV!!!
