Day 1 - VATA BALANCING YOGA Program - Ayurvedic Yoga - Grounding Flow Practice - Beginners Level

Welcome to this 14-day VATA BALANCING YOGA PROGRAM. This is a wonderful program to help you understand how to balance the Air and Ether (space) elements in your body. This is what is known as Vata dosha in Ayurveda - the energy which governs all movements in our body. When out of balance we might suffer from circulatory issues, hypertension, insomnia, stress, anxiety, cracking and painful joints, various cramps in the body or irregular mensturation - just to mention a few possibilities. In our yoga practice we can invite the opposite qualities of Vata which helps to bring balance back to our body. As the qualities of Vata are dry, light, cold, rough, subtle and constantly moving - we want to invite a practice which emphasise the qualities of slow, steady, warm andwhich is lubricating for both the body and the mind. As Vata governs all the movements in the body - it's always beneficial to help bring balance to these elements in our being, which is why this practice is useful for everybody! Even if you don't have any of the imbalances mentioned above, we can all benefit from inviting stability and nourishment into our being. This is also a suitable program for people who are both new in Yoga and Ayurveda, as we'll go through the foundation of both these sciences. It is also great for more experienced yogis to participate in this program as you'll get the opportunity to refine your technique and also learn how to use yoga in a more therapeutic way through the Ayurvedic understanding of honering different qualities and body types. We'll slowly build up this practice and progress more and more each day. There'll also be a couple Restorative yoga classes as this is a very beneficial form of Yoga to help balance Vata dosha. Lastly, props are not a must but can be helpful in the classes. Use whatever pillows and blankets you have available at home. If you don't have blocks you can use a pair of books instead. I look forward for you to participate in this journey with me and for you to learn the Ayurvedic perspective on yoga as a therapy.
