The presentation will first introduce the concept of predicate and attributive adjectives in English before moving over to an examination of these forms in German. We will see that predicate adjectives in German do not take an ending, but attributive adjectives may take both strong and weak endings. After examining how weak adjective endings can be used after definite articles, we will then look at how strong and weak adjective endings can be used together in combination with ein- and der-words. Finally, we will examine how strong adjective endings are used with no preceding ein- or der-word. The concept of ein- and der-words will not be covered in this presentation. 00:11 Presentation outline 00:59 Predicate adjectives in English and German 01:49 Attributive adjectives in English and German 02:07 Weak adjective endings after definite articles 05:57 Strong and weak adjective endings with ein- and der-words 09:47 Strong adjective endings with no preceding ein- or der-word
