It was a cold, foggy, miserable morning at Cape Cross, but plastic entanglement doesn’t stop for bad weather, and neither do we. In this case, the rescue was only possible because of sharp eyes and experience. A faint dent in the seal’s fur hinted at something wrong, and it was enough! A nearly invisible loop of fishing line had wrapped around her neck. If the team hadn’t spotted that tiny clue, she would’ve been left to suffer. These are the kinds of rescues that keep us going out every day, even when conditions are terrible. Entanglements don’t take weekends or holidays off. They’re happening all day, every day, across every ocean.
