Although for many of us looking to transition to a new life, unfortunately the pains of living in such a cultural society, the imprints of its ills become indelibly stamped into our psyche. In fact, we don't fully see its effects until after we have arrived and begun this new way of existing. In some instances, this is a reflection of post-traumatic stress disorder. Obviously, certain things standout more for some than others, depending on whatever circumstances each of us have been subjected to. Whereas other things are shared in its experience. Such is the case with Adilah and friend Sharifa. As they share a "sister chat" moment, they both identify with a similar affect that each have been on a journey to meet and overcome.
