Honda NSX 2005 review: why it's nothing like the 2021 car

The new hybrid NSX didn’t quite live up to the legacy set by the NA1 (1990) and NA2 (2002). But was the original NSX really as good as well all remember? Yes. In many ways. First, the numbers: the NA1 NSX came with a 3.0-litre naturally-aspirated V6 VTEC engine producing around 270hp. That was enlarged to 3.2-litres in 1997, with power increasing to 290hp. You could get either a manual or automatic gearbox and power was sent to the rear wheels. That's about it for the original, and that's arguably what makes it so special.
