A weekend trip into the Belgian Ardennes – part 1 We arrive in Houyet and put our shelters in the old Station Château Royal d’Ardenne built by Leopold II as stop close to his castle Royal d’Ardenne. The castle is no longer so we have to agree with what the station is giving us as a shelter location. Also not bad and looking like a Scottisch building on Balmoral it once stood on the timetables from many foreign capitals London, Vienna, Berlin and Paris which trains steamed up straight to this Royal Station. Next day we will walk along the Lesse to the castle of Walzin and back and visit also the archeological-geological and nature reserve park Furfooz.
