Repair job on a late 1800s CL Guinand (of the Guinand Frères company in Les Brenets), an 18 sized Swiss made Antique Pocket Watch. The watch was purchased on auction and doesn't work. The balance wheel was missing screws and the hairspring was out of shape. The movement was overall very dirty and likely hasn't been serviced in a century. The crystal was also shattered and needed replacement. The Guinand Frères company was founded in 1865 in Switzerland by brothers Julien-Alcide and Charles Leon. They operated in a town situated on the border of France, close to many other French watchmakers who settled in this area during the French Revolution. I am an amateur who enjoys restoring vintage watches to working order. Constructive critiques of the process are welcome. I am always learning.
