Written by Tony and Brenda Bruno and Sanford Bellini. Arranged by Steven Garrick Born in South Carolina and raised in Pittsburgh, Chuck became a member of one that city’s most famous groups, the Del Vikings. Chuck signed with Wand Records and opened his account with “I Don’t Want To Cry”, a song he wrote with Luther Dixon. The song got to #36 on the Hot-100. There followed a string of top quality soul ballads, most of which made the Hot-100. “Tell Him I’m Not Home” was one of these, reaching #42 in 1963. Tony Bruno was also a recording artist, releasing three Anders-Poncia songs in the mid 60s. He also co-wrote “Last Chance To Turn Around” for Gene Pitney among many others. “Tell Him I’m Not Home” was later covered by Normie Rowe in Australia, Simon Scott & The All Nite Workers in the UK (produced by Robert Stigwood) and Ike & Tina Turner on Loma in the US.
