Lensing an Award-Winning Music Video With Only the VENICE Extension System Mini

Sit down with Jon Joffin, ASC and cinematographer Mitchell Baxter as they share how they shot the ASC Award-nominated music video "False Prophet" by Pillars of a Twisted City. Captured entirely with the VENICE Extension System Mini — also known as the RIALTO Mini — Joffin and Baxter pushed the boundaries of limited resources, used only available light, and took advantage of the small form factor and VENICE 2 sensor to find compositions quickly. Their VENICE Extension System Mini was rigged on a DJI RS 4 Pro with the main body carried in a backpack, while a single focus motor and small E-mount lenses, specifically the Thypoch Simeras and the Zeiss Nano Primes, kept the main camera light and nimble.
