Annecy is a picturesque city located in beautiful southeastern France in the department of Haute Savoie, known for its stunning natural beauty and charming Old Town. Situated on the shores of Lake Annecy, it is also known as the Venice of the Alps. The city offers a wealth of outdoor activities, including swimming, boating, and hiking in the surrounding mountains. The Old Town is home to numerous historic buildings, including the Palais de l'Isle, a 12th-century castle that once served as a prison, and the 16th-century Château d'Annecy, which houses a museum of regional history.
