In this GameSmith tutorial we are going to build 5 new bases for aquatic plants for your tabletop game. Fish tank plants are terrific for creating scatter terrain for your aquatic adventures such as The Ghosts of Saltmash for Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) or the Skulls & Shackles Adventure Path for Pathfinder. These plants can also be useful with the Idoneth Deepkin in tabletop wargames such as Warhammer 40k. Plant scatter terrain can be used to create cover, difficult terrain, and break sight lines in your underwater encounters. In this DIY tutorial we are demonstrating 5 different ways to build or modify fish tank plants to thematically blend in with the rest of our aquatic scatter terrain. However, they need not be limited to aquatic adventures; by simply changing the color pallet on the bases we can also use such plants on alien worlds, in the Underdark, and even in other dimensions. Modifying cheap fish tank plants can be an easy way to liven up any encounter. As a bonus build, we have added some fish scatter terrain that we are affectionately calling Fish Pillars. This short build highlights how to crate schools or shoals of fish from toy fish and mini cordial glasses. We hope this video is educational and inspiring. Enjoy!
