Mushroom Hunting Around Amsterdam

New Amsterdam Travel Video- Thousands of species of mushrooms sprout up in all the Dutch wooded areas during Autumn. And since we've been hiking and biking through many nature reserves around Amsterdam and the Netherlands, we've come across lots and lots of different varieties, under the trees and even in the sand dunes. Mushrooms need both moisture and warmth, so the best time to find them are after a rain between August and November. It's unbelievable how many different kinds there are: red, white, white, yellow, purple, green, orange..even some looking alien and bloody. We trekked through the Diemerbos, Amsterdamsebos, Amsterdam Waterleidingsduinen, Noord Hollandsche Duinenreservat and de Hoge Veluwe.
