Florida Highway Patrol tried stopping a white BMW X5 for tailgating and illegal window tint, but the driver had a much bigger secret hidden inside the SUV. According to the police report, the driver — 36-year-old Wilfredo Cordova Diaz — refused to stop and pushed the 350-horsepower BMW X5 into triple-digit speeds, weaving across lanes, blowing past troopers, and triggering one of the most dangerous pursuits in Hillsborough County this year. The chase finally ended near I-75 and Fowler Ave, where the aftermath revealed the truth: troopers located roughly one kilogram of cocaine (1,068 grams) and $9,000 in cash concealed inside the BMW. Diaz now faces a long list of serious charges, including: Trafficking in Cocaine (1st-Degree Felony) Possession of Cocaine (3rd-Degree Felony) Aggravated Fleeing & Eluding Causing Serious Injury (1st-Degree Felony) Reckless Driving Causing Serious Injury (3rd-Degree Felony) (not shown in video) Destroying / Concealing Evidence (3rd-Degree Felony) Driving While License Suspended – Habitual Offender (3rd-Degree Felony) Two troopers and their K-9 partners were seriously injured during the pursuit and required emergency treatment.
