Create your own pro model skateboard deck by easily applying your own full color skateboard graphics in a few simple steps! Also check out more videos at www.lqdtv.com In this video we will show you: How to prepare your own custom graphic How to apply the graphic to your deck How to finish your deck to preserve the graphic There are 5 steps to create your own custom skateboard graphic. 1. Create and print your own board graphic 2. Prepare your deck and the graphic for application 3. Apply your graphic to your deck 4. Remove paper material and reveal your graphic 5. Finish your board with varnish for better result and longer lasting graphic. Tools: Skateboard deck LaserJet printer (Inkjet won't work!!) Regular paper Matte Gel (available in any art store or online) Brush Spunge Transparent varnish or lacquer. How To: Create your graphic in Illustrator, Photoshop or any other graphic design software. Make sure your canvas is the size of 3x A4 lined up in landscape mode. After your graphic is done, flip the canvas horizontally (else your graphic will be mirrored) and print it using a LaserJet printer. Cut of the white edges around your graphics that most printers will leave you with. And then make sure your graphics line up properly before you continue. Apply the Matte Gel to your deck and cover the entire area where your want to apply your graphic to. Make sure your spread the gel evenly or you will end up with "holes" in your graphic. Now put your graphic on the board, facing down with the print on the Matte Gel covered surface. It's best to start in the middle and the line up the outer papers. The nicer you line up your graphic, the nicer the end result will be. Use your hands to smoothen out the paper so you don't end up with bubbles. Spots where the paper (and graphic) are not touching the board will end up as empty spaces. You don't want that. Leave the whole thing dry for about 5 hours. You could always let it dry for a few hours more just to be safe. Now take a slightly moist spunge and start wetting the paper. Don't overdo it with the water!! Else the result will be very "watery". Now gently keep scrubbing the paper with the spunge until the paper starts crumbling off. Be carefull not to scrub to hard or you will damage or take off the graphic as well. It's best to be patient during this step. You can keep scrubbing until all paper residu is removed. It's easiest when the spunge is slightly moist and in the end you can use your hands to wipe of the paper. Now your graphic should be transferred to the board pretty nicely already. To preserve your graphic and keep it from scratching off to easily apply a transparent varnish or coating. This will also improve the colors a little bit! Let it dry and you're all done!! Now you can go skate your own pro model skateboard.
