Should and can Central Europe be considered as a region of common interests and strategies, or are countries following different strategies and what will be the impact of competing national priorities for regional security? ---------------------------- 🌏The Equilibrium Institute organized again the year’s most prominent conference in Hungary on energy and security policy!🌏 Held on May 19 and 20, this unique event brought together more than 250 experts and decision-makers from 15 countries, along with 80 international speakers, to discuss the most pressing challenges in the fields of energy and security policy. Co-hosted by the Equilibrium Institute and NATO, the conference was held in Budapest with the aim of providing a high-level forum for political and economic leaders in Hungary. The event also offered a platform for in-depth discussions among experts on today’s most urgent global energy and security issues. The conference addressed the following key topics: ➡️ Transatlantic and global security policy: NATO’s future, U.S. foreign policy, the war in Ukraine, and strategic alliances in the Indo-Pacific and Western Balkans ➡️ European defense and strategic autonomy: EU and NATO roles, defense capabilities, and the defense industry ➡️ Energy, climate, and technology: Energy security, green transition, climate change impacts, AI, and innovation ➡️ Geopolitical shifts and regional dynamics: Central Europe, the Western Balkans, Indo-Pacific, and future relations with post-war Russia The two-day international event marks a major milestone for the Equilibrium Institute, as we proudly hosted our annual conference for the second time, reaffirming our role in launching a vital expert dialogue in Hungary on the most pressing security policy issues impacting our country and transatlantic relations. 🌐Follow us on other social media platforms!
