Parking in Little Langdales I headed along the path parallel to the river in Mickledon Beck. Heading up Rossett Gill to Rossett Pike, taking in lovely scenery and eventually passing Angle Tarn and reaching Esk Hause, before climbing the summit of Allen Crags at 785 metres. A cold bitter windy fell this was that day, I needed shelter in my tent and found a pitch pretty quick. There’s plenty of great little spots but just depends what view you’d like. Wind constantly battered the tent all night, later on the hail stone came leaving a bit of a winter wonderland in the morning. Having needed some will power to get back outside in the elements, I packed the tent away and heading back via Stake Pass and the via Mickledon Beck.
