The Bible is full of examples of parents blessing their children. For instance, Abraham blessed his son Isaac and Jacob blessed his twelve sons. In fact, the Bible teaches us that blessing our children is not just a nice thing to do, but it is a Biblical commandment. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." So how can we bless our children? First, we can speak positive words over them. Tell them how much they mean to you and how proud you are of them. Encourage them in their pursuits and remind them of their worth as children of God. Secondly, we can pray for them. Pray for their health, their safety, their friendships, their studies, and their future. Ask God to guide them and protect them from any harm or influences that may lead them away from Him. And finally, we can set an example for them by living our lives according to God's Word. Let your children see you reading and studying the Bible, attending church and praying. Let them see how your faith shapes your choices and decisions in life. In conclusion, dear brothers and sisters, I encourage you to take time to bless your children every day. It is a small but mighty act of love that can have a lasting impact on their lives. May God grant you wisdom and grace as you fulfill this important role as parents. God bless you. 1. Speak life-giving words - Encourage, affirm and appreciate your children.
