🍳 Welcome to Chef’s Home Kitchen! 🍳 I share authentic Japanese home-cooked recipes that you can easily make at home, wherever you are in the world. From traditional dishes like miso soup and tempura to quick and healthy meals, all recipes are explained step-by-step. Serves: 3–4 Time: 20 min Ingredients 200 g sliced pork belly ½ block konnyaku (yam cake) ⅓ burdock root ¼ daikon radish (about 200 g) 1 leek (or green onion) 1 carrot 2 potatoes 1 piece ginger 1 tsp sugar 2 tsp hondashi (Japanese soup stock powder) 1 L water 200 g miso paste 1 Tbsp sesame oil Instructions Cut all the vegetables up to the potatoes into bite-size pieces. Heat sesame oil in a pot. If you add the pork first, it tends to stick to the bottom. Start by stir-frying the konnyaku and carrots. Once the pork belly is cooked through, Add all the remaining ingredients. Stir-fry until everything is evenly coated with sesame oil. Grate the ginger and add it in. Add sugar and hondashi, and mix well. Pour in the water, cover with a lid, and simmer over medium heat until all ingredients are tender. Skim off any scum and excess fat from the surface. Gradually dissolve the miso paste into the soup. Serve in bowls and sprinkle sesame seeds if you like. ✨ Thank you for watching!
