Well we went off again in my fathers boat to get the low water. We shot 20 2" nylon herring nets in one string and let them drift for the last hour of the tide. The fishfinder didnt show any herring, only sprats, so wasnt sure if we would get any. We had a look in the end gill, and there was a nice few, so we gave them a little longer until the end of the tide. We then hauled and cleaned 2 nets, but had to run the rest, or we would have drifted miles away. As the tide turned, the swell got over the banks, so it was a bit lumpy coming ashore. There was still a few nice full herring, but the majority are now all spent. The season seems to be changing, we normally dont get many full herring after xmas, but there is still some in February.
