Inside, the Nightwatcher sat motionless, wrapped in an orange wool coat stitched with stars. No one knew who assigned the post — only that someone was always watching, always listening, always there. Some said the observatory didn’t look outward anymore… it looked in. Toward forgotten thoughts, discarded futures, and the strange murmur of something trying to make contact. Tonight, the door creaked open at exactly 2:41 AM — the time stamped on every page of the logbook, no matter who had written it. The warm glow spilled into the mist as a quiet, deliberate footstep echoed through the dome. They say the Nightwatcher never speaks. But if you sit long enough, if you listen to the storm and the low mechanical hum beneath the wind, you’ll hear what they’re guarding against… or waiting for. Welcome to NIGHTWATCH.
