Shoemaker Clearwater, Quilted Maple & Red Spruce | Lindsay Straw

Joel Keefe Shoemaker is a guitar builder based in Sandpoint, Idaho, and he's quickly coming up on his first decade of hand-crafting custom vintage-inspired guitars. This Clearwater model is an inspired take on a deep-bodied L-00. With a quilt to rival just about any others we've seen, the maple back and sides are something to behold, further accented by an amber toner. To match, the red spruce top has an unusual sunburst finish, keeping the look of this guitar earthy and rich. Tonally, it is rich and full-bodied, balanced with nothing lacking or underrepresented.
