This idyllic location at Black Point on the Yorke Peninsula is an great beach fishing and surfcasting location. We're targeting whiting, flathead, mullet, salmon trout and Australian salmon with both pilchard baits and soft plastics. I love beach fishing on the Yorke Peninsula with a range of locations available depending on weather condition. No matter the wind direction, you can always find a location for beach fishing Yorke Peninsula. We used a range of Zman soft plastics (Zman GrubZ, Zman MinnowZ) on my Shimano Raider rod and Ultegra 2500 reel. It turns into a real mixed bag of fishing with picturesque scenery and a visit from an eagle ray. For the first time fishing at Black Point I was pretty happy with the result and I look forward to trying it again. We fished Black Point on the incoming tied with a range of different fish being caught. I was really hoping to catch a larger flathead on the Zman soft plastics but it was a reasonable session with a mixed bag of fish being caught. As a new South Australian fishing location for me, Black Point on the Yorke Peninsula wasn't somewhere that I had really heard of, or seen YouTube fishing videos and so I thought it was worth trying this location to see what might be around. I hope you can see that it is a good location to try that isn't one of the main go to fishing destinations on the Yorke Peninsula.
