ESUMS Graduation Ceremony | Engineering And Science University Magnet School Class Of 2019 | Part 1

Engineering and Science University Magnet School (ESUMS) 2019 Commencement Exercises was held on June 14th. It was one of the most memorable events for Hizami, his siblings and family. Hizami's sister Anisa who graduated from ESUMS 4 years ago flew back from California to attend this event. Unfortunately, his sister, Kakak Amira was not able to attend. This video, narrated by Hizami's brother Aiman, is dedicated not only to her, but also to all family members of ESUMS students who were not able to attend, either due to other obligations or because of the limited admission ticket issued. ESUMS is unique in many ways. Students, parents, teachers and staff are like a close-knit family. Students are supportive of one another, parents know one another. The PTA is strong and committed to the welfare of the school ecosystem. Teachers and administrators work seamlessly with one another. Many former teachers came to attend the event and to meet their pride and joy. It is a very young school, only been founded about 7-8 years ago. But under the leadership of current Principal Medria Blue-Ellis, ESUMS has propelled itself to become one of the best magnet schools in Connecticut. This year 6 of ESUMS students were accepted to Yale University, 2 to MIT as well as to other Ivy Leagues and top schools in the country such as Princeton, UPenn, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Duke, Amherst, West Point, UConn and more. ESUMS, located adjacent to the University of New Haven (UNH) campus in West Haven, Connecticut, is a public college preparatory middle and high school, challenges students to imagine, investigate, and invent while preparing them for demanding STEM programs at the collegiate level.
