Firing up the old '4 banger' stove. Started with meths until burners properly heated for kerosene burn. These 4 burners were included along with an extra set for the stove. I am currently awaiting 4 new No.1S burners from Base Camp to really let this stove roar. According to the Optimus catologue of approximate 1957-58 date, these furnaces were designed for industrial applications. "They are specially adapted for industrial use and in workshops when a great heat is required and when the heat must be distributed under a large space. The heating capacity of these furnaces may be judged by the fact that each burner equals in power Optimus stove No. 1S burner". I'm not sure about these industrial uses, but this model seems to provide more than sufficient heat for crab, lobster, and mudbug boils.
