This video tries to demystify the Pen tool - I will give you the image I am using so you can follow along with this tutorial yourself as you learn to use the pen tool. You will see how to make anchor points and where to make them - with anchor points less is more. You will see how to change the handles as you work and how to change them after you have drawn your lines. You will see how to make curves by altering the length and direction of a handle. By the time you have completed this video you will have a good grasp of the Pen tool and you should be able to trace a logo or other simple design to make a bitmap image into a vector image. This is a great Illustrator tutorial for beginners and will help you learn lots about Illustrator when you are just starting out.
