It is situated at the foot of the tallest peak in the range and has considerable depth. The lake is named Pari or Khapiro due to the widespread belief that it is the abode of fairies who live and bathe in the pure and clear water of the lake. To reach Pari Lake, one can start their journey from Islamabad and take the Swat Motorway, passing through tourist places like Madyan, Bahrain, Kalam, and Utror in their car. From Utror, it is a one-and-a-half-hour jeep journey to Chenat Shahi, which is the starting point for the trek to Pari Lake. Trekking to the lake requires endurance and love for nature, as the trail is steep and challenging from both the Izmis and Kundol lakes, taking approximately five hours to reach the lake. Pari Lake is surrounded by sharp jagged rocks and peaks with scanty grass and flower growth. It is a triangular lake, with its western face opening to the greater Pari Lake. The lake is fed by several white gushing waterfalls from the surrounding peaks and glaciers, providing crystal clear water. However, the lake remains submerged in glaciers for most of the year, except in the months of July, August, and September. Pari Lake I, a smaller lake located above the greater Pari Lake, is an important water source for the latter.
