Kitchen tap change BUT look what I found

I did a kitchen tap change but look what I found. This tap had a weird fault in it and I needed to swap it for a new like for like but I found something weird inside the trap. We been out to this property a few times to do some repairs as it was flooded but this tap and bath waste was the last of the jobs that we had to get to. Most of the fixtures and fittings went back in including the kitchen units and that is not always a good thing because no matter how good you are the units never look as good as new. It’s not the best plumbing under this unit but I’m not here to replace the pipework I’m here to connect the sink and tap and the rest is staying as is. This is a rental and as long as it’s fit for purpose that’s all the landlord wants. we had to clean and polish the bath as it was grubby as anything but we just done the best as we can to make it look good and make sure there are no leaks. Sometimes we do maintenance and repair jobs that we do not enjoy but someone has to do them and they bread and butter jobs so it might not be my preferred job but it’s a job.
