Hello all my lovely minions 🖤 Welcome if you’re new and welcome back if you’re an OG! In today’s video I’m finally sewing up a true vintage-inspired dream — a 1950’s large pocket skirt using Simplicity S3016. I bought this fabric at the end of 2025, and it felt like the perfect project to start cutting into it. The fabric is vintage kettle-cloth from Backroomfinds.com, and it has that beautiful weight and structure that just belongs in a 1950’s silhouette. And can we talk about those large pockets? Because we all know — if it doesn’t have pockets, do we even want it? Fair warning: this one is a little longer than usual… I got chatty. But honestly, that’s part of the fun. You’re basically in my sewing room hanging out with me while I construct this skirt step-by-step. In this video: ✂️ Cutting and construction 🧵 Working with vintage kettle-cloth 📏 Fitting and shaping 👗 Final reveal and thoughts Thank you so much for spending your time with me. If you enjoy vintage sewing, historical silhouettes, and the occasional spontaneous stitch session, you’re in the right place.
