Last night's Glee episode was all about auditioning your heart out! Here's your Glee-Cap for "The Role You Were Born to Play". Finn is back home working at his Dad's tire shop after Rachel broke up with him and he was kicked out of the army. So Artie comes to the rescue and convinces him to direct the school musical with him- since the play "Grease" was his idea- take a look. Over at McKinley High Blaine is still devastated by his breakup with Kurt, and belts out "Hopelessly Devoted to You" as his audition song for the school musical. Blaine then retracts his audition thinking the play is too romantic for his broken heart. Artie surprises Finn by enlisting a couple old friends to help with the musical- watch this. Mr. Schuster convinces Emma to move with him to DC for his temp new gig saving the arts- against her wishes. Unique says she won't audition for Grease but Marley convinces him/her to follow her dreams of playing Rizzo. Sue Sylvester promises to make sure Unique doesn't play Rizzo, so of course Unique auditions to prove Sue wrong. Marley and Unique belt out a duet of Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" in rebellion. Finn takes it upon himself to mentor failing new student on the football team Ryder (The Glee Project winner Blake Jenner), to join Glee club and try out for the musical as Danny. To try to throw out Marley and Ryder out as Sandy and Danny in the play, Cheerio Kitty and bad boy Jake sing Neon Trees' "Everybody Talks" as their Grease audition. The directors announce the musical audition callbacks, and the four top contenders for the roles of Sandy and Danny along with Mercedes and Mike sing "Born to Hand Jive". . Unique admits her discomfort in her own skin and finds comfort in the role Finn offers her in the Grease musical- her dream role "Rizzo". We find out the rest of the cast roles as Finn posts the final list on the school bulletin board. Of course we're not surprised Marley and new kid Ryder were cast as Sandy and Danny. Emma finally admits she doesn't want to go to Washington with Will while he's away fighting for the arts for a few months, so they decide they will make their relationship work while apart.
