NYCT M125 Bus Ride Via 149 Street Crosstown: 2018 Nova Bus LFSA 5512 From The Hub to Manhattanville

Taken on 11/6/22. Footage of SBS Schemed Nova Bus LFSA 5512 on the M125 route from The Hub in The Bronx to West 125th Street & Broadway in Manhattan, via 149th Street Crosstown and Lenox Avenue. Due to the NYC Marathon, many bus routes throughout the five boroughs were detoured. Bus routes were either diverted around, truncated, or split into two sections due to the marathon path in the neighborhoods traversed. The M125 was diverted for most of its route throughout the day, with the only part of its regular route that buses operated on was on 125th Street, west of Lenox Avenue. M125 buses regular serve The Hub, but for some reason also did not serve the regular stops in that area for some reason. Buses operated on a totally different route in that area, and of course this part was not mentioned on the MTA site and neither through any service alerts. This issue was brought up via their Twitter account as well but was not addressed at all. The M125 bus route is a relatively recent bus route which came out of the Bronx bus redesign project, however none of its route is new. This route was the lower Bronx and Manhattan portions of the former Bx15 route. The current Bx15 now travels between Fordham and The Hub only, with riders having to go to Mott Haven or Harlem having to transfer to the M125 (or the (2) or (5) trains). The M125 also replaces the M100 along 125th Street, which got truncated to Saint Nicholas Avenue from 2nd Avenue in this redesign as well. The M125 route is based out of Tuskegee Airmen Depot. Bus 5512 is one of several buses (both Nova Bus LFSAs and New Flyer XD60s) in the SBS scheme at Tuskegee Airmen Depot, even though there are no SBS routes out of it. This was done because of an earlier shortage at the depot, and the buses will appear to remain in the foreseeable future, unless other situations rise up. Unlike many other SBS Schemed buses at Tuskegee Airmen Depot, at the time of recording the bus had SBS logos and were not peeled nor taped off.
