WHAT IS FUNK https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funk Mundo Stereo, emisora antecesora de la actual FM Tiempo, nació en 1979 bajo el alero de radio Nuevo Mundo, sin embargo con los años la actual emisora comunista se desligó de su señal FM y la traspasó a un particular, quien se encargó de darle el cierre definitivo en 1983 de manera repentina y sin aviso previo. La causa es todo un misterio, sin embargo la tesis más recurrida es, como en muchos casos, malos manejos administrativos, lo cual quedaria en entredicho ya que Mundo Stereo no tenia problemas de anunciantes. Todo un logro, si tomamos en cuenta la dificil situación política del país. Aun así ¿que es lo que ha transformado a Mundo Stereo en un objeto de culto para los mayores de 38 años dos décadas despues de su cierre? Algunos piensan que la clave estaba en la linea musical de Mundo Stereo: abocada practicamente a los temas anglos top de la epoca, pero con un pequeño gran detalle: un alto porcentaje eran temas de la onda disco,funky, dejando un pequeño margen al rock y al pop de la epoca. Sin embargo, se privilegiaba los temas "escasos" por sobre los que eran "oreja" en ese tiempo, lo que le daba a Mundo Stereo un toque único e irrepetible.
