It features a completely overhauled skill and progression system. You no longer spend skill points as you level up to unlock better character traits and bonuses. Instead, your actions will govern your skills with the help of purchasable upgrades! You will choose between 7 classes which will govern the types of weapons and skills you specialize in. These include the Hunter, Thug, Builder, Soldier, Technogeek, Butcher, Sous Chef, Berserker, and Witch Doctor. Each has access to a unique legendary weapon. There are dozens of new firearms, melee weapons, and vehicles! NPCs can be hired to join your side including the ever-loyal Briston, a personal trainer NPC specific to your faction, and literally HUNDREDS of assorted male and female survivors for you to encounter and interact with in the wild. NPCs not only aid you in battle, they can carry items, mine resources, and even repair your base! You can issue complex commands to them and even level them up. Alongside your NPC companions, you can even have K9 or feline companions too! Several breeds of dogs and even panthers can aid you in combat. Additionally, there are several new animals types and vanilla animals have been entirely redone. The chief threat is still the Zombies. And there are DOZENS of new zombies. Some are plain, and others have mysterious protections and powers. There are even legendary bosses that will be incredibly difficult to fight such as Wights, Skeleton Warriors, Seekers, Corpulents, Grudges, Cyborgs, Robots, and more! New craftable items and new crafting stations will help fill out your base and there is a new farming mechanic to learn as well. The list goes on and on!
