Underwater Ancient Roman Ruins | Rome, Naples, Capri + Marriage Proposal

The Roman city of Baia was once a luxurious getaway for Rome's rich and Powerful. The same volcanic activity that made for Baia's famous hot springs and spas would eventually drown the city and send it's lavish villas into the bay. Being able to explore these ruins through Scuba Diving was an experience of a life time. During these dives, we were able to see nearly perfectly perserved polychromatic mosaics, marble doorways, collapsed pillars, the strucutal base of massive villas, and even the furnaces that helped supply the thermal baths. This video gives a glimpse of what it is like to dive here but does no justice to capture the extraordinary feeling of swimming through a city that people had once sojourned. This is as close to the lost city of Atlantis as it gets. Besides the dive, we got to experience Rome, Naples, Pompeii, The Vatican, Mt. Vesuvius, and topped it all off with a proposal on the island of Capri. Italy was great to us and it will always be one of the best times of my life!
