Grand Ridge Trail, Olympic National Park Total Length: Approximately 15 miles round‑trip, or 7.5 miles one‑way from Deer Park to Obstruction Point. Elevation Gain: Around 3,100 feet, with the highest point reaching about 6,625‑6,630 ft on Elk Mountain. The Grand Ridge Trail is a show-stopper—offering unmatched alpine terrain, flower-filled meadows, and panoramic mountain vistas. Whether you’re tackling the full route or turning back at Maiden Peak or Elk Mountain, it’s a quintessential Olympic Peninsula experience. Pack water, prepare for sudden weather, and enjoy every grand moment. 👟 Trail Conditions & Tips Water: Bring plenty. No water sources are available on the trail. Snow: Snowfields may linger into late summer—carry traction gear and navigation tools if hiking early. Exposure: Most of the trail lies above treeline—expect wind, alpine sun, and loose shale on slopes. Hiking poles and sturdy traction are recommended. Entry Fee: Olympic NP entrance required (America the Beautiful or park-specific pass). Road Access: Deer Park Road and Obstruction Point Road are steep, narrow, and often gravel. Drive cautiously—even if all‑wheel or low‑clearance vehicles are allowed. https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/g... #hiking #mountains #optoutside #tripreport #nature #naturephotography #olympicnationalpark
