I don't have to adhere to lyrics. I can just let the video and the music play itself out. Instrumental scores are the perfect opportunities for voiceovers! I have too much fun with voiceovers. So for this I let Jack and Elizabeth literally tell their story themselves. I think the music fits so perfectly for these two. I aptly name this video “Jack & Elizabeth's theme.” It's pretty much a good recap of their relationship all through Season 1-3 leading up to the Season 4 premiere. I don't know how I managed to fit their epic relationship in 3 minutes, but somehow I did. For the first half it's Jack's perspective on their relationship. But the second half changes to Elizabeth's perspective throughout the end. Both equally showing how much they mutually love each other. Even though some scenes repeat, I made sure they were different shots showing different perspectives. :) I originally wanted this whole video to be in black & white. Color can easily manipulate a viewer into what emotion they should be feeling, therefore I wanted to strip it of color and let the viewer feel what THEY think they should be feeling. However some VO's recall the past and realized if it's all in Black & White you wouldn't be able to tell a flashback from the present. So hence the color progression from black & white to full color. For the most part this is a very fast video. However I did let them have a moment to breathe, and by breathe I really mean kiss. ;) I fit a lot into this video and definitely think you may need to watch this video more than once. I do love the story behind the music. Paul Cardall, the composer, was born with half a heart. Through funding and research he was able to receive a new heart and continue his beautiful music for all of us to enjoy. He composed this theme and dedicated it for all those who suffer from congenital heart disease. So if you have a heart, I highly suggest you buy his album because he will donate $1 for every album towards the “Saving Tiny Hearts” charity. Hearties supporting Hearts! Very fitting....
