This video demonstrates dopplerguesser, an application which determines what satellite is being received based solely on the doppler signature of its signal. It is originally designed to identify unknown transmissions on S-band live, without storing any data, but it also works on frequencies below that. This video demonstrates its operation on L-band (around 1700 MHz). More info and installation instructions can be found on github: github.com/BUSH222/dopplerguesser In this video, the signals from 2 different satellites are presented. Dopplerguesser managed to correctly identify both of them, in spite of the noise, low signal strength, interference and other factors. Satdump was used to decode Meteor-M 2-3 HRPT data. Reception setup: Antex AX-Offset D90 reflector with a custom helical antenna as a feed. LNA: SAW BPF 1690 MHz (blue chinese stick) + tqp3m9037 LNA SDR: RTL-SDR Blog V3 Computer: Apple MacBook Air (M2, 2022) Chapters: 0:00 - 0:14 Intro 0:14 - 3:54 SARAL 3:54 - 17:20 Meteor-M N2-3 17:20 - 17:28 Conclusion Yes, this video has no sound.
