I ran into this hole problem on my mini lathe, again trying to make a straight hole into a part and having the bit wobble on me due to the tang on the back of the chuck. I have only needed this twice but I finally got tired and decided to pick up this smaller chuck without the tang on the back of the MT 2. They also said it's for the mini lathe which seems to be much smaller but still the same 1/2 inch size which I guess I should have done a long time ago. I just went with this since it was cheaper than buying these as separate items and much smaller which works much better on the mini lathe and now I don't have to mess with any of the others I have. On a side note, I just noticed that the slight movement on the morse taper actually goes away once you tighten the bit in the holder. I didn't notice this when I made the video so it's all good now. It doesn't move at all, so it will be fine. I'm already looking forward to using it. I hope this helps others looking to fix this problem on their mini lathe. One thing I did forget to mention is that I like that this chuck also has the key on it so that I can snug the jaws down. I seem to have had a harder time doing this on the key-less chuck, so this was a good thing too. At least I like it and don't mind it. I really didn't get to use the other one much so it's hard to say what I like the best, but this one I can just work with now. I have now tested it and it held well making a hole that was about 2 mm into a hard car M6 bolt. I usually work with small parts so the mini lathe works just fine for my stuff.
