Canada and in specific Toronto's ecosystem are thriving with new neurotechnological initiatives, products and know how. Cogniciti is a brain health company that is changing the way the world looks at brain health and aging. Through the provision of innovative, evidence-based brain health solutions, Cogniciti engages older adults in important conversations about their brain health, working to improve the quality of life of those living with dementia and supporting research efforts to prevent, treat and cure dementia. Cogniciti has developed a clinically-validated cognitive test that provides independent adults with the ability to evaluate whether their memory is normal or if they should contact their physician. Cogniciti has been successful at developing, researching, and growing an online cognitive assessment that has combined robust science with strong user engagement. Larissa will go over the Cogniciti Brain Health Assessment Tool and its latest applications used in different types of research studies and in clinical trials. She will also discuss The Smart Tracker tool to monitor overall health. Discussions on current and upcoming innovations in this landscape will be discussed. Presenter's profile Dr. Larissa McKetton is the Director of Scientific and Clinical Development with Cogniciti Inc., associated with the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest. As part of Cogniciti, Dr. McKetton engages in research focused on solutions to maintain cognitive health, increase independent aging, and reduce healthcare costs and caregiver support needs. Dr. McKetton brings all-encompassing experience in the healthcare space, in marketing and delivery of services to aging adults. Having worked with industry partners, the healthcare sector, and in academia, she has a wide range of experience conducting brain-related studies encompassing aging neuroscience, multi-sensory system processing, and vascular brain health. In addition, she brings an extensive background in neuroimaging analysis, cognitive neuroscience, patient recruitment, mentorship, statistical, and business expertise. Dr. McKetton did her MSc and PhD at York University in neuroscience looking at clinical and unique populations with a neuroimage focus. Her postdoctoral work at Toronto Western Hospital focused on cerebrovascular reactivity using fMRI in the aging brain, in patients with steno-occlusive disease, dementia (Alzheimer’s) patients, long-term outcome studies pre and post brain bypass surgeries, resting-state studies, CVR resistance mapping, DTI and sMRI analyses. Moreover, she continues to mentor students, is a PI and Co-PI on several current studies, and chairs the R&D board at Cogniciti. Contact: lmcketton@cogniciti.com
