#metal #audioproduction #musicproducer I’m tracking a death metal song and wanted to show something wild. The second guitar isn’t AI. It’s math. I kept thinking about vinyl grooves - how tiny imperfections make each playback slightly different. So instead of generating a second performance, I used DSP to chisel a new DI from the original. Gaussian randomness. Smoothing. Saturation. Soft clipping. Same head. Different cab. Here’s the crazy part: The original DI and the math DI don’t null. What’s left over is an actual guitar performance artifact - a ghost signal that feels like another player.
