Zuffenhausen is a symbol of precision, innovation and excellent workmanship. This is where Porsche combines tradition with the latest production technology: driverless transport systems, a central factory cloud and the use of artificial intelligence - just a few of the innovations used in the production of sports cars "Made in Zuffenhausen". The production center for the 911 and the fully electric Taycan is located at the Zuffenhausen site. In addition, in an area of approximately one square kilometer north of Stuttgart, the boxer engines for the sports cars and the V8 engines for the four-door internal combustion engine models as well as the electric motors for the Taycan and Macan Electric are produced in two engine plants. In addition, there are three manufacturers on site: the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, where customer cars are extensively customized, the Sonderwunsch department, where unique cars are created, and the CFRP Manufaktur, where exterior body parts for special and lightweight sports car models such as the 911 S/T and 911 GT3 RS are manually assembled from the regular production line. In addition to Zuffenhausen and Weissach, Leipzig also plays an important role in the Porsche world. The Cayenne first rolled off the production line from 2002 to 2016, followed by the Carrera GT from 2003 to 2006. The Panamera sports sedan has been produced there since 2009, the Macan has been in production since 2014, and Porsche converted the Leipzig site into a complete plant from 2011 to 2014. At its Zuffenhausen site, Porsche combines the advantages of industrial series production with the exclusivity of uniquely manufactured sports car products. “Zuffenhausen is and will continue to be the home of our sports cars. This is where we have been producing cars that have captivated the world for 75 years, combining craftsmanship and engineering skills,” Reimold emphasizes. With this anniversary, Porsche is not only celebrating its impressive past, but also looking to the future: Like its counterpart in Weissach and the full-scale plant in Leipzig, the Zuffenhausen plant stands for groundbreaking technologies, production quality and Porsche’s unwavering desire to get ever closer to the perfect sports car.
