James Last - Unchained Melody (1974)

James Last plays an excellent string orchestra arrangement of The Righteous Brothers' hit Unchained Melody, which also features the late Günter Platzek on keyboards. The track is from Last's 1974 album Violins In Love, which was something of a follow-up to his 1965 album Beat In Sweet. The earlier album featured string-oriented orchestral arrangements of current hit songs. Violins In Love varied the format a bit by mixing arrangements of current hits of the time (The Air That I Breathe, You Make Me Feel Brand New, etc.) with covers of 60s classics like Unchained Melody, Let It Be and A Whiter Shade Of Pale.
