Along Hobart’s Former Rail Corridor by Bus (10 January 2026)

Filmed on 10 January 2026, this video shows the bus journey from New Norfolk back to Glenorchy in Hobart. While there are no regular passenger trains in Tasmania, the route offers views that would have been familiar from the rails, including stretches along the Derwent River (from the opposite bank). The footage also captures remnants of the Hobart railway through the suburbs, including views of the old Bridgewater Bridge (soon to be removed) and the convict-built causeway. With the old bridge decommissioned, Hobart’s railway line is now cut off from the rest of the system, making this a small glimpse of a corridor that once carried trains.
