You are with me, Nthanda Manduwi, and our guest is none other than THE Xandria - a renowned and celebrated Malawian fashion designer. Guest : Xandria Host : Nthanda Manduwi Background: Xandria: The founder and fashion designer of House of Xandria - a trailblazer in the Malawian fashion industry. She discovered her passion for fashion at a young age, around 7 years old. Despite studying business administration, she continued designing clothes by hand. In 2015, at just 18 years old, she decided to turn her love for fashion into a business by establishing House of Xandria. House of Xandria: Xandria’s brand, House of Xandria, has gained recognition for its unique designs and commitment to social impact. The company creates high-end apparel while also promoting sustainability and eco-friendly practices. Xandria organised Malawi’s first-ever fashion show featuring creations by designers with disabilities through a show called All Shades of Beauty Fashion Show (2021). The show aimed to break down barriers and showcase the talent of people with disabilities in the fashion and arts industry. Models, some in wheelchairs, confidently strutted the runway, proving that disability is not inability.
