Heat poses a growing and inequitable threat to cities in South Asia. Planners and policymakers in the region need to ensure that urban planning and development does not contribute to and is adapted to higher temperatures in the face of climate change and the urban heat island effect. This session will delve into the interplay between urban environments, vulnerable populations, and the escalating risks posed by rising temperatures in South Asia. Experts from academia, public policy, and the nonprofit sector will present their perspectives on enhancing urban heat resilience in three major South Asian cities.
