Freshman League 1 falls 7-6 to the South Dade Buccaneers Kevin Maura did all he could to give Freshman League one a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past the South Dade Buccaneers, as Freshman League one lost 7-6 in seven innings at South Dade High School on Thursday. Kevin racked up three RBIs on two hits for Freshman League one. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning. The South Dade Buccaneers were sparked by Enzo and Eli, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs. Freshman League one jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Freshman League one caught fire after Tyler Grant singled. Then Kevin doubled, bringing home Logan Bryant. The South Dade Buccaneers went up for good in the fourth, scoring two runs on two singles. The South Dade Buccaneers quickly matched Freshman League one's strong inning with a three-run inning of their own in the sixth. The South Dade Buccaneers scored on an RBI double by Eli and a two-run double by Enzo. Three runs in the top of the seventh helped Freshman League one close its deficit to 6-5. A wild pitch and a two-run single by Kevin set off Freshman League one rally. But, Enzo got Anderson Garcia to strike out to end the game.
