Templates are great for kick-starting the creative process and they save you masses of time setting up each new sound from scratch every time you want to start making music. But what about the idea of a Template as a deliberate interruptor? A place where you can tease out and encourage unpredictability? This week, I’m going to show you around a simple Template I’ve made which is designed to take pre-existing material (loops, remix stems etc.) and pass them through a series of sonic manglers to just see what happens when predicability meets unpredictability and they fall madly in love.
