(PART 2) This unique snowplow numbered ELS 112 looks like a Russell but appears to have been built from an old boxcar and made in-house by the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad decades ago. I chased it north out of Iron Mountain, MI and followed it to Channing, but not before a bunch of cool places to film the train and a few more crossings too! Snowplow Train- Winter maintenance with the a powerful machine designed with thick steel to clear thick layers of snow from railway tracks efficiently and safely. With its heavy-duty plowing system, this train ensures smooth rail operations even in the harshest winter conditions as we see in upper Michigan. How Does the Snowplow Train Work? Blades at the front break through deep snow as another flange plow drops down between the tracks and removes that too. The snow is pushed aside or ejected away from the tracks, preventing blockages. Designed to operate in extreme weather, ensuring uninterrupted rail service when used regularly..
